About the Role
The Machine Operator position is responsible for operating various machinery involved in production of material necessary for manufacturing welded steel racks.
Duties:
• Set up and use shears, CNC band saws, drill presses, punch presses, CNC brake presses, and forming machinery to fabricate parts per blueprints
• Prepare material for production- may include loading, unloading, lifting and moving material
• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities- sweep, mop, removed debris
• Follow all company rules and policies
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Provide manufacturing support as required
Abilities and Skills
Must have basic knowledge of hand and power tools
Must have strong measuring skills using tape measures, calipers, and digital measuring devices
Must have basic math skills
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand continuously for long periods of time
Must use Personal Protective Equipment required for Machine Operators
Must be versatile and able to adapt to daily requirements
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently
Willing to work in excess of 40 hours a week
Education/Experience
0-1 year of general work experience in manufacturing machine shop preferred
